MEMBERSHIP ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS [MEP]:
MEP events provide Council members opportunities to participate in a variety of enrichment, learning and social events aimed at increasing their knowledge of art, history and culture.
- Artistic Site Visits: Tours of private or corporate art collections, studios and historical places.
- Book Club: Discussions and guided tours in related galleries and locations.
- Bring a Friend Lectures: Informative lectures for members and an opportunity to share the benefits of The Council with friends.
- Connect & Learn: Themed presentations of VMFA collections, facilities, sculpture garden and historic campus.
- Lecture Luncheons: Council Business Meetings are held in September, February and May. Council members can enjoy a meal together, celebrate accomplishments, and take guided tours. Fee for optional luncheon portion.
- Social Events: Council Members can enjoy a Holiday Party in December and other events.
- Trips: Council designed trips to special exhibitions and events usually within a day’s travel.

- Annual Council Membership Handbook/Directory.
- VMFA Council Connections, an electronic newsletter published monthly.
- The Council’s Website – comprehensive information on The Council, its volunteers, and registration for events.

- Free coffee whenever volunteering.

- Ice cream social with staff on third Thursdays of the month from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the Atrium (with occasional schedule or location changes).
