The Atrium Ambassadors are the primary greeters for the VMFA.  We ensure that our guests have the best possible experiences in visiting the Museum.

We roam from the front door to the Hirschler Flowers (and beyond!) to ensure our guests feel welcome, understand the layout of the Museum through maps, help them learn about the various galleries and exhibitions, and have their questions answered.  Their questions can range from “Where is the nearest rest room?” to “I am a first-time visitor to the Museum.  What do you recommend I see?”

Each member of the team volunteers 18 hours per quarter in two-hour increments from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; until 6:00 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.  Some of our Team Members volunteer even more than that because they love what they do!  Scheduling your time-slots is flexible based upon your own personal availability.

The only requirement is that you enjoy talking to people and take pride in introducing our wonderful VMFA to the public by explaining what our Museum has to offer.

If you fit that enthusiastic bill, we would love to have you join our Museum Ambassadors’ team.  We are always happy to welcome new team members and provide you with training to make you feel comfortable in performing this important role at the VMFA.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
